Juvederm

The most preferred dermal filler that has become the talk of the town is Juvederm. It is an injectable hyaluronic acid that has lasting effects from nine months to one year. It corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. However, Juvederm is not used for lip augmentation. The ingredient of Juvederm is a naturally occurring sugar that is found in a body too. Hyaluronic holds water at the injection site and acts as a cushioning agent.

Is there anything important I need to know before getting Juvederm injected?

This injectable gel should not be taken by patients who have serious allergies or history of anaphylaxis, allergies to Gram-positive bacterial proteins and licodine. Moreover, Juvederm should not be injected into blood vessels. If after the injection, any inflammation occurs the process should stop there and then.

Are there any side-effects of Juvederm?

Most of the side-effects of Juvederm are mild in natures which usually resolve under 7 to 8 days. The most common side effects are redness at the injection spot, swelling, itching, bruising, discoloration or some mild infection. After the injection, the patient is not supposed to exercise or take alcohol.

How does the Juvederm Correction last?

The effects of Juvederm are temporary. Re-injections are needed but they are usually after 9 to 10 months.
